Living and learning in 2017

So it’s 2017 and January is nearly half done already! It’s about time I got some goals for the year posted on my blog. I’ve had a bit of trouble refocusing and figuring out what things might look like with a relatively new job that is quite different to the previous work I was doing, so I’m trying to keep my goals pretty straight forward. So here goes!

Goal 1: Increase my confidence in using te reo Māori in my work and at home – I had the privilege last year of completing a beginners course in te reo Māori and now I want to make a greater effort to expand my learning as well as increase my use of the language.

Goal 2: Further develop my understanding of accessibility and promote accessibility as a norm – My experiences with my two low vision children as well as being on the board of BLENNZ has reminded me how important accessibility is. I want to be sure that everything I develop is accessible.

I also want to push myself to blog more again. My blogging has fallen off over the last 6-12 months, so I’m aiming to try to blog at least once a week.

So that’s my plan for this year.
